Tarbosaurus is a genus of large theropod from Asia. It was larger than Dasplateosaurus, and Albertosaurus, but still smaller than the famous Tyrannosaurus. It was once thought to be a second Tyrannosaurus species.
The largest known Tarbosaurus specimens range from 33 to 39 ft, making them smaller than Sue, a Tyrannosaurus which was 40 ft. Tarbosaurus was between 3 to 6 tons in weigh. As such, it was one of the largest theropods in Asia.
Tarbosaurus was first found in Mongolia. Since then more fossils were found in China, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
